RICHARD A. POLLAK
216 k1ERITAGE LANE
NEW BRIGHTON, MINNESOTA 55112
TJlarch $, 1~3~32
llear I~layor Harcus and. City Council Nembers;
bVe urge consideration for the development of a
Regional Park aL Lhe Long; Lake site for the following
reasons:
L Y l t h
the respo
use, iripr
users and
that we,
cutting; e
Council w
much-need
Regional
somethin~*
attention
1. A well-planned park would be recreationally
beneficial to residents of the entire
cornluunity;
2. lleveloplnent of the site would provide needed
recreational outlets for young people in the
area, especially those in llistrict 621, who
are faced with so many program cuts;
3. r~~ore people would have reason to come to
New i3rip~hton, and, therefore, would patronize
local businesses;
4. There would be an incentive for more services
to locate in New Hrighton {such as food,
sporting goods, small shops);
5. Finally, a Regional Park would be a source of ~,r~cle
to the community and enhance the New Brighton
image. It would make development and expansion
in New Brighton more attractive because of a
f;reater influx of people to support businesses.
the development of the tegional Park would come
nsibility to establish firm guidelines for park
der to provide a safe environment for both park
corrurlunity residents and. property. Recognizing
as individuals and as part of organizations, are
xpenditures in many areas, we hope that City
ill move quickly to develop a master plan for a
ed improvement for this city. Not only would a
ParK be an asset to the community, it would be
positive, for a change, on which to focus our
sincerely,
~~~~
~~
