NEW:BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />JUNE 1, 1.983 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by Chairperson Gunderman <br />II. Members present: Gunderman, Carlson, Olson, Solberg, Grimshaw, <br />Johnson, Council Rep. Blomquist Also present <br />Maurice Anderson, Michele Haggard <br />III. Minutes of the April 6th meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Corresponsence <br />A. Council Report <br />Councilman Blomquist reported that the Council has held the first <br />reading of an ordinance regarding use of Long Lake Park Sale <br />receipts, directed a study of the "gravel pit" and that the <br />city manager had resigned and that the search for a replacement <br />would take about 4 months. <br />B. Walbon-Miller <br />No report <br />V. New Business <br />A. Long Lake Lawsuit <br />Anderson reported that the latest attempt by the L.L.I.A to <br />block the development of the regional park had been rejected <br />in Ramsey County District Court. <br />B. 1984-1987 CIP <br />Anderson distributed copies of last year's CIP for discussion. <br />purposes and explained reasons for deleting the south Hansen <br />parking lot from the '83 CIP. It was suggested that the Community <br />Development fund could possibly be reduced in future years if <br />the 1983 participation: level was low, and that trail lighting <br />at Hansen be carefully examined to avoid waste or the appearance <br />of waste of funds. The full plan is to be approved at the July <br />meeting. <br />Chairman Gunderman suggested that the. September meeting be de{ <br />voted to long range planning. <br />VI. Old Business <br />None <br />VII. Announcements <br />A. Tree City Award <br />Anderson reported that the city had received-this award from the <br />National Arbor Day Foundation.. <br />
