. , <br />September 5, 1984 Park Board Minutes <br />Page 4 <br />Anderson said he appreciates the comments from the Park Board. <br />Now he will give Fridley Grace some options so we can reduce <br />the impact on resident use. <br />Gunderman asked about the policy on removing snow from rinks on <br />the weekend because those are game days for Lake Region Hockey <br />and if the snow is not removed they can't play. <br />Anderson said the City's overtime budget is .limited. -The <br />Maintenance Crew works a split shift - the rinks are done on <br />Friday nights. <br />Gunderman asked if they could get a Wed. off for working Sun. <br />Anderson said the policy now is if snowfall is in excess of 2" <br />and stops by 10:00 Sat, morning it will be cleared. It takes <br />about 3 hours to get -all the rinks done. If the snow stops .any <br />later, it wouldn~t be enough time to get the rinks done so we <br />don't do any of them. If the snowfall is less than 2", it can <br />be shoveled.- <br />Anderson said we may-want to do the same thing on Sun. Right, <br />now it's only on Saturdays. For another $2,000 we could possibly <br />be running 7 days a week. <br />Carlson said it would be worth the good PR. <br />Anderson said he could put it in a memo to the council and add <br />to the overtime budget. <br />Van Hatten said it whould be phrased so that they know it is <br />not something new, just a continuation. <br />The Park Board agreed they would like to see money added to the <br />budget for snow removal and maint. o~ rinks on weekends. <br />VIII.
