NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES JULY 11, 1984 II. Members Present: III. Minutes called to order by vice Chair Dahl at 7:40 pm. Dahl, Hogan, Johnson, Olson, .Rose, Solberg, Van Hatten, Council Rep. Janecek A. Minutes of June_6, 1984 Meeting were approved as submitted.. IV. Correspondence A. Council Report George Carlson and Larry.Eickhoff have been appointed to-the Long Lake Advisory Committee. Laura Solberg has been appointed tq the Planning Commission. Janet Newham, an Arden Hills resident,-.has applied for the Long Lake Advisory .Committee, Anderson said he believed the positions that were open had been filled. B. Long Lake Advisory Committee Anderson said they have not met, they will be meeting in July now that they have all the vacancies filled, V. New Business A. 1985 - 1989 CIP Anderson said he would-like to discuss five'of the CIP items that are questionable in his mind. The Pike Lake Trail would link-with Long Lake.. Anderson would like to delay it because Ramsey County will not be doing any development in 1984, The County-Board has not been pushing toward development. We will send a letter expressing our dismay to .Ramsey County, Ken Simons has not been getting enoughsupport~ he is doing his best. The easement along the railroad. tracks needs to be -- negotiated for the trail to go in. The railroad owns that __ - -- piece of property. The easement may not be secured and the ----- track developed until 1986. If we put $15,000 into a .trail without having somewhere to go with. it, we'll look. rather stupid. Motion by Van Hatten, seconded by Hogan., to delay the Pike hake trail to 1986 and review again in 1985. Motion carried. Dahl asked .Anderson to explain the CIP process to Loyal Rose because he may .not be familiar fvth it. Anderson explained the CIP process.
