NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 2, 1985 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 8:05pm by Vice Chair <br />Ken Johnson. <br />II. Members present: Blomquist, Carlson, Eichers, Johnson, <br />Rose, and Council Representative Benke <br />Members absent: Gunderman, Olson, Seward, Van Hatten <br />III. Minutes <br />MOTION BY BLOMQUIST, SECONDED BY EICHERS, TO APPROVE THE <br />MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 4, 1985 MEETING. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Councilman Benke reported that the Council had completed <br />its work on the 1986 budget and that the projected tax <br />increase was about 3.6%. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Discussion of Comprehensive Plan Meetings <br />The Board requested that they be provided with a summary <br />of comments from the neighborhood meetings and expressed <br />disappointment with the low turnout. Anderson informed <br />them that the Comp Plan revisions would be ready for <br />public comment in December or January and that those who <br />had attended the neighborhood meetings would be invited <br />to review the proposed changes. Councilman Benke suggested <br />that a letter be sent to local athletic associations <br />notifying them of the proposed revision of the Comp Plan <br />and requesting their input. <br />B. Discussion of 1986 Budget <br />Anderson reported that the proposed Park and Recreation <br />budget and CIP had survived budget hearings nearly intact <br />and that the department would not be reducing services in <br />1986. <br />C. Long Lake Park Tour <br />Anderson reported that most of the County Commissioners <br />would be attending the Long Lake Park tour. Johnson <br />suggested that the tour be conducted by car in order to <br />complete it in a timely fashion. <br />VI. Old Business <br />None <br />(OVER) <br />
