November 1, 1985
Tb; New Brighton Park Soard
From: Maurice Anders~~irector of Parks and Recreation
Re; Land Purchase - Hidden Oaks Park
The City has recently received a proposal from a Terry Barrett
(see attached). He is suggesting that the City purchase from.
him the 1.19 acres immediately north of the park.
There are several advantages to the park if we were to purchase
this parcel of land (in addition to my constant desire to
turn the entire city green).
-The proposed well could be built on this site
-The hockey rink could be reoriented, the
present orientation is incorrect
-The free skating area could be moved to the
present hockey rink location, improving both
skating in the winter and softball in the summer
T
The $80,000 purchase price is undoubtedly quite high. If
the Park Board is interested, this matter would then go to
the Council for further direction. The land would have to
be appraised before the Council could consider purchase.
attachment

Hoc ke ~heltar
c~
a-
rd
