New Brighton Park Board <br />..Minutes <br />January 8, 1986 <br />I. The meeting was called to order by 1985 Chairperson Gunderman <br />-who announced that he had been appointed to the City Council <br />and as a result was resigning from the Board. •George Carlson, <br />the most senior member present, presided over the.remainde.r <br />of the meeting. <br />II. Members present: <br />also present: <br />absent: <br />III. Minutes <br />Blomquist, Carlson, Eichers, Gunderman, <br />Olson, Rose, Seward <br />Mayor Benke, Council Rep. Williams <br />Johnson, Van Hatten <br />A. Moved by Olson, seconded by Seward, to approve the minutes <br />of December 4, 1985. Motion Carried. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Mayor Benke expressed appreciation to the Board for its <br />cooperation during his tenure as Council Representative <br />and introduced Roger Williams as the 1986 Council Representative. <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />Anderson updated the Board on pending County Board action <br />regarding beach swimming fees and additional County expendi- <br />tures for beach development. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Election of Officers <br />Postponed until the February meeting. <br />B. Veterans Park Renovation <br />Anderson requested input from the Board on potential improve- <br />ments to Veterans Park. <br />Suggested items: <br />-Upgrade, relocate ball diamond <br />-Move ball diamond as far east as possible <br />-Consider multi purpose shelter <br />-Consider needs of seniors <br />-Consider storm water retention needs <br />-Upgrade playground equipment <br />-Consider using ponding for free skating <br />-Use temporary fencing on ball diamond <br />-Request funding assistance from St. John's <br />
