Dean : ~ a ~ ' ~,~,~ G~.~~~...
~~~~ ~
ThanK.you for Walunteering to coach in .the. North Metro
Junior Football League. Coaching .is often a thanKiess .job
with people who don't respect the coach's decisions ar .
realize all of the t-~ard worK involved in coaching.
i~lthough we may not agree with all of your coaching methods,
• ~.h+e do realise that it may be difficult to coach the ~+arious
age cornbinatians together with the varied sKill level of the
boys.. In our particular-case, our son is a 90-pound 3rd
grader, and unfai^tunately was too large to play with his owr~
. 3rd grade friends. He was assigned to play with 3rd, ~1th, +~
5th graders, many of wham had pia>~ed together for one season
and Knew the basics of the game.
lade attempted to switch Aaron to a less competetive team but
found it was not possible. Bather than .just let Aaron suit
and say no more, I was -encouraged by a number of parents and
ar+other coach to voice our dissatisfaction. One ver;v
understanding coach said, "Haw can you expect a newcomer to
learn and improve if he isn't given a fair chance to try?
These sports are far the satisfaction and en,ioyment of the
team members, and not for the coaches or parents."
Y'au seemed to have lost sight of that idea as The Patriots
played their Tuesday evening game against the Packers. It
was apparent that bJINNING was the foremost objective.-After
faithfully attending three weeKs of practice {with only one
,missed practice), we watched as Aaron sat an the bench
throughout a game that was apparently being played against
same tough rivals. I shouldn't have to call your attention
to league rules stipui-sting equal play for each and every.
• team member regardless of sKill level!
~~~
