SUMMARY OF COMMENTS FROM QUESTION 30 <br />Page 2 <br />- There are tracks of land that could be cleaned up and developed into nature <br />centers (by Weil #8 and Salem Covenant Church). <br />-.Need bike and hiking trails, more picnic areas, better picnic pavilon at <br />Hansen Park,.. bike trail to Rush Lake Park. <br />(4 similar responses.} <br />- Parks are left a messafter certain groups use them. <br />Need more supervision at Totem Pole warming house--last year it was a hang- <br />- Freedom Park--evergreen trees would help reduce the N.W. wind at the hockey <br />rink and sliding hill. <br />- Parks are generally excellent except for Pike Lake which is substandard and. <br />poorly maintained. Totem Pole Park could use some updatingt <br />- Creekview Park has become a disaster with the digging of the well. Help! <br />- No parks around-lakes--no jogging paths. <br />- Too many parks--give surviving ones better facilities. <br />- There is not one decent softball field in the city. <br />- What has happened to the care of Silver Oak Park? It's a mess. Tennis eou <br />could not be used. <br />- Hope Long Lake Park opens soon--we've waited so long for it. <br />- Develop jogging trail in new park. <br />- Why doesn't New Brighton have outdoor swimming pools in their parks? <br />-.Changing fees to use Long Lake hurts people who need it the most. <br />- Please reduce costs--eliminate expanding Park Dept. <br />~ wish that you would do something about the Post Office. <br />`~ (1 similar response.) <br />Get the City out of liquor business--for economic and moral reasons. <br />- (bsimilar responses) <br />- Liquor operation overpriced, poor selection, bad service.
