~amse y <br />Resolution <br />Board of <br />un f ~omm!ss lon ers <br />o ~ <br />• Commissioner Norgard Date September 28, 1987 _No' 87"582 <br />esented 8y <br />tentlon: <br />Budgec ~ accout-cing;~Michael Mattson, Parks & Recreation <br />WHEREAS, The seven Ramsey County municipalities along State• <br />Highway 96 have formed a Task Eorce to formulate recommendations <br />for the design and improvement of Highway 96; and <br />WHEREAS, The Minnesota Department of Transportation has <br />identi.fi.ed the need of future improvements on Highway 96; .and <br />WHEREAS, Highway 9b passes, or provides access to three Ramsey <br />County Regional Parks, a .county ice arena, a county open space <br />site, and intersects existing county bike paths; and <br />WHEREAS, The majority of the existing Highway 96 right-of-way <br />width may be adequate to provide a separated bike/pedestrian path; <br />Now, Therefore, Be It <br />RESOLVED, .The Ramsey County Roard of Commissioners encouc~ges <br />.the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the seven Ramsey <br />County municipalities along Highway 96 to formulate a plan for the <br />design. and .improvements of .Highway 96 that include .bike/pedestrian <br />paths along the entire nine mile distance between New Brighton and <br />Wfiite Bear Lake. ± <br />• <br />U.i,ane Akn.¢xe, CkA.in <br />~~~~~ <br />By ¢ ~ _ v y -- <br />
