NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 3, 1987 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Park Board <br />Chairman Johnson. <br />II. Members present: Blomquist, Carlson, Eichers, Johnson, <br />Kalina, Rose, Seward,Council Rep. Williams, also present, <br />Hank Snyder, Principal Bel Air School, Barbara Ritter, PTA <br />President,Julie Novak <br />Absent: Olson, Van Hatten <br />III. Minutes <br />A. Minutes of January 7, 1987 <br />Minutes of January 7, 1987 meeting were approved as <br />submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Councilman Williams reported that the strategic <br />planning session in January was a success. <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />No meeting. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Purchase Raiche Property <br />Staff explained the reason for the Raiche's willing- <br />ness to sell and recommended purchase of the property. <br />MOTION BY SEWARD,SECONDED BY EICHERS, TO RECOMMEND <br />PURCHASE, NOT TO EXCEED $5,000.00. MOTION CARRIED. <br />B. Bel Air PTA Request <br />Barb Ritter explained the rationale for their request <br />for city help in completing the project. Johnson <br />commented that he was impressed with the results of <br />their efforts. He also suggested that the Council <br />direct staff to prepare a policy covering requests like <br />this. <br />Carlson stated that he also thought that formulation of <br />a policy was a good idea and commended the PTA. <br />Seward asked if we had done this kind of thing <br />before. <br />
