City of New Brighton
January 3, 1994y
Page Two
It is also recommended the trails be appropriately signed and marked for designated
lanes, direction and type of traffic on the trails. Typically, cities will prohibit
motorized vehicles and sometimes wheeled units.
In addition to the aforementioned, there is also a concern for getting large
emergency vehicles down the trail systems to accommodate an injured person. I
believe a wider trail could help accommodate the larger ambulances we see today.
- Therefore, it is recommended the trails be established at a minimum of 8 feet wide.
The long-term benefits and successes that can be enjoyed by a cooperative, self-insurance
organization depend upon serious and careful consideration of loss control recommendations.
In that context we ask that you keep us informed of the steps you-take to address these lass
control recommendations.
