Our initial <br />proposal was far the development of Hanson Park #3. Hovr~ever, based upon the conversations at that meeting it <br />became clear that the Parts and Recreation department did not feel that Han.eon Park #3 was de~~etopable to a Level <br />suitable for Little League play. Several alternate sites were ~ and suggested as possible replacements for <br />development at Hanson Park #3. 'These alternate sites were Figllviev~, Totem Pole Park and Vermont field. <br />Additionally, a multi y.,ar plan for,fieio+s paztnership was discussed as a positive step.towards fields in the City. <br />As a consequence of those discussions, t<he k~~i Ids and Scl3eduling committee has reviewed each of those fields, <br />some for the fast time, others for the 4~ or 5~ time. We would like to present the following proposal. <br />Year # 1. Little Lakes Linde League would lilae to develop Totem Pole Park for iiSlle league play. Totem <br />Pole was selected ,because of serezal factors. Ample parking, playground for small children, good drainage, are <br />but a few of the positive a;>pects of the field. The other two sites, Htghview and Vermont were rejected for a <br />vanety of reasons, patkinR, proadmity to streets, fie3d condition, etc. LLLL would like to provide funding for <br />dugout fencing. approximate cost, $1600.00. The League would ask the City to provide benches on both the fast <br />and third base line and a hood for the backstop. approximate oost. $ 1500.00. Totem Pole £eld would be <br />designated for American League. i 1-1Z year okl, play. <br />Year #2. Little Lakes Little Lea~tie would Tike to provide funding for protective bench fencing at both <br />Sunnyside and Pike Lake fields. Sunnyside would continue to be a Jr. Minor field (9-10 year olds).while Pile <br />lake would be designated an instractianal league field (7-A year o1d.S).
