October 6, 1993 Park Board Minutes <br />Anderson suggested moving the tennis court north-about 20 feet and <br />bend the path around the tennis court. <br />Eichers noted that one person who signed the- tennis court list wants <br />her name removed. <br />Anderson thought the tennis court should be done as a last priority. <br />Carlson said he couldn't see putting in tennis to sacrifice soccer or <br />volleyball <br />Anderson said let's make the tennis court conditional. <br />9 <br />Carlson said we have already spent significant money on tennis courts. <br />Would {ike to keep it low key. <br />MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY ETCHERS, TO RECOMMEND <br />THE PROPOSED PLAN WITH A BLACKTOP PATH AND WITH THE <br />EXCEPTION OF A TENNIS COURT. <br />Kalina commented that volleyball is more raucous. <br />Olson said it would be used for pickup .games, not .leagues. <br />MOTION CARRIED. <br />MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY TREVORROW, TO ADD THE <br />TENNIS COURT 1F THERE IS A SUITABLE LOCATION AND FUNDING <br />FOR IT. <br />MOTION CARRIED. <br />B. Name Selection for "Innsbruck Park" <br />Olson said she likes the name Pecks Woods for the park. <br />Kalina and Eichers suggested Black Oak Park. <br />Carlson said he would like to get input from the kids for a park name. <br />Anderson said kids tend to pick names out of the air and they do not <br />relate to anything. <br />It was decided to let the names simmer before choosing one. <br />C. Update on Family Service Center <br />Anderson stated that if the multi-city senior center does not happen, <br />the seniors could be added to the family center on the east side. <br />
