NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />JUNE 2, 1993 <br />I. The meeting was called. to order at 7:30pm by Chair Olson <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Eichers, Helgeson, Kinzie, Ocel, Olson, <br />Trevorrow Also present: Roger Rao, parent rep. for Irondale Tennis Courts <br />III. Minutes of May 5, 1993 <br />MOTION BY KINZIE, SECONDED BY TREVORROW, TO APPROVE THE <br />MAY 5, 1993 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />The City is working with three parties to develop the old towne area; <br />Chies New Brighton Care Center, John Ordway and Rottlund homes. <br />Work on all three will likely begin in late fall of 1993 or early spring of <br />1994. <br />B. Multi City Senior .Center <br />Anderson said this is still at the Met Council. They are looking for a <br />way to do it because they want to do a cooperative venture. If it <br />stays at the Fridley location, it may be harder for the Fridley Council to <br />support because of the opposition. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Update on Potential Family Center <br />Northwest Youth and Family Services scaled down their space need. <br />The School District is still a go. <br />Olson asked if NWYFS scaled down their portion would that make us <br />short. <br />Anderson said he would like to build in 2,000-4,000 feet of <br />unallocated space. <br />Anderson stated that all the Planning Commission members were <br />concerned that it not be too small. <br />
