<br />., <br /> <br />"'" ~ <br /> <br />f <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />!:-~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />84-50 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING USER CHARGES FOR THE WATER AND SEWER FUND <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the New Brighton City Code provides that user <br />charges for the Water and Sewer Fund shall be established by <br />resolution, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the most recent rate study disclosed a need to <br />change the user charges, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of New <br />Brighton that the following changes be made in user charges: <br /> <br />1. water rates shall be increased from 709 to 959 per <br />1000 gallons of consumption. In addition, a second <br />tier charge of $1.15 per 1000 gallons of consumption <br />shall be charged for water used in excess of 40,000 <br />gallons in any quarter by a residential account. <br /> <br />2. the minimum quarterly charge for water shall be $7.00. <br /> <br />3. the flat rate charge per account for sewer shall be <br />increased from $23.50 to $26.50 per quarter. In <br />addition, a second tier of $1.33 per 1000 gallons <br />shall be charged on non-residential accounts for usage <br />in excess of 20,000 gallons per quarter. <br /> <br />4. whenever user charges prescribed by this Resolution <br />remain unpaid as of the due date, a penalty of ten <br />percent (10%) shall be charged on the unpaid balance. <br />No penalty shall be charged if the unpaid balance .is <br />less than $10.00. The penalty prescribed by this <br />section shall be in addition to the interest charge <br />which is applied in case of certification. <br /> <br />5. the charges for miscellaneous items, such as meters, <br />repair work and special services shall be equal to an <br />amount which permits the City to recover the costs <br />associated with the item. <br /> <br />6. for the purposes of this Resolution, a residential <br />account shall mean each dwelling unit which is equipped <br />with separate kitchen facilities. <br /> <br />7. the terms o;f this Resolution shall become effective <br />Junel, 1984 except that the penalty shall not be <br />charged until the end of the first full billing period <br />following June 1, 1984. <br /> <br />Adopted this 24th day of April, 1984. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />I ...:.:..-- <br /> <br />;r;J. <br /> <br />Henry <br /> <br /> <br />A,1'TEST -:-- <br /> <br /> <br />tA.
