'~1 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />84-15 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGES IN THE PENSION BENEFITS OF THE <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT RELIEF ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Fire Department Relief Association's Board of <br />Trustees, active members and retired members have approved <br />changes in the benefit provision os their by-laws: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, before those changes can become effective they <br />must be approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that for eligible retirees <br />l. The minimum monthly retirement benefit shall be <br /> $200 after twenty years of service <br />2. For each year of service after twenty years, a <br /> benefit of $10 per month shall be provided to a <br /> maximum of $300 per month. <br />3. The following schedule shall be used to establish <br /> the amount of future benefits. <br /> Number of Years Retired as of Percentage of Increase <br /> Date of Pension Benefit Increase Applicable to Retired <br /> Member <br /> Less than 1 year 100% <br /> More than 1 year but less than 2 95% <br /> More than 2 years but less than 3 90% <br /> More than 3 years but less than 4 85% <br /> More than 4 years but less than 5 80% <br /> More than 5 years but less than 6 75% <br /> More than 6 years but less than 7 70% <br /> More than 7 years but less than 8 65% <br /> More than 8 years but less than 9 60% <br /> More than 9 years but less than 10 55% <br /> More than 10 years 50% <br /> <br />For purposes of determining the number of years retired, all fire"""" <br />fighters who have retired on or before January 1, 1984 will be <br />deemed to have retired on January 1, 1984. All firefighters who <br />retire after January 1, 1984 will be granted 100% of the next <br />increase in pension benefits after they retire. Any firefighter <br />who retires and cannot draw pension benefits because he has not <br />reached 50 years of age will be deemed to have retired when he <br />draws his first benefit check.
