<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meet ing ~1;eutes <br />December 19, 1986 <br /> <br />Egan presented cou"c i lmembers with an update to the staff report <br />concerning a resol~tion authorizing purchase of insurance cover- <br />ages, stating staff is in agreement with Bruce i'1edvec's. insurance <br />agent, recorrmendat')'Jns to use the league of :>1innesota Cities for <br />general packages, ~rsue deductibles. with regard to liquor to <br />select the insurer who provides equivalent limits with the least <br />restrictions, and that the City Manager and ~ayor be authorized <br />to execute agreements with insurers in accordance with ttle pre- <br />viously stated recOOll1endations. <br /> <br />Medvec reviewed the state of the insurance industry with re9ard <br />to the issuance of insurance to municipalities.. and stated <br />council need not make a decision this evening, indicating the <br />city would be insured on January 1. 1986. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Blomquist, to USE THE LEAGUE OF <br />r~INNESOTA CITIES Foo GENERAL PACf<AGES, PURSUE DEDICTIBlES, WITH <br />REGARD TO LI QUOR TO SELECT THE INSURER \mO PROVIDES EQU! VALENT <br />LIr~ITS I,JITH THE LE,~ST RESTRI CTI ONS, AND THE C ITY i~AtJAGERAlm <br />MAYOR BE AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS WITH INSURERS IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH iHf PRE V IOUSL Y STA TED ITE~~S. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, ~tion Carr i ed <br /> <br />With regard to the City Hall Renovation/Remodeling project. <br />Sinda stated staff feels comfortable with the project and <br />Winkels indicated t,e building inspector had reviewed the <br />latest plans. <br /> <br />Mot-ion by Harcus. seconded by Blomquist, to APPROVE PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR CITY HALL REtIOVATlOtl/REMODELING PROJECT AND <br />AUTHORIZE ADVERTISEMENT FOR SIOS. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Mr-ion Carried <br /> <br />Hinkels stated the}:ianning Comnission reviewed final plans for <br />rezoning and final ;RD to construct a 48-unit apartment building <br />for the elderly antt recommended approval. <br /> <br />Jim Senden, repres~nting Henry Hyatt, stated they are still having <br />some problems with MHFA but that Hyatt feels they are getting close <br />to teach i ng agreement. <br /> <br />Harcus asked if thEre were any changes in the 1 as t few days since <br />tne Planning Commission meeting, Senden stated no changes had been <br />made. <br /> <br />Jack Buchsell. architect, briefly revie\-Jed the site plans. <br /> <br />In response to Bente's question concerning a problem with ants in <br />the existing buildtng.
