'"

Dear New Brighton City Council:

We, the undersigned, residents of the 25 hundred block
of 14th Avenue N.W. and a resident of the IJ hundred block of
25th Street N.W. with property abutting 14th Avenue N.W., have
read and reviewed the proposed resolution regarding regulation
of non-resident parking on 14th Avenue that is sCheduled for
action at the Tuesday, June 25, 1985 New Brighton City Council
meeting. Pleased be advised that the proposal to restrict
parking on 14th Avenue N.W. by placing "No Parking" signs on the
west side of the street between 25th Street and County Road H
is insufficient and unacceptable. The continued unregulated
parking on the east side of 14th Avenue N.W. will ndballeviate,
or even diminish, the existing hazardous traffic conditions,
that include:

-blockage of driveways
-excessive trash and refuse
-excessive traffic
-property destruction
-danger to resident children

At the present time, with no parking regulations on 14th Avenue
N.W., most of the parking by non-residents using the Irondale
High School sports facilities occurs on the east side of 14th
Avenue N.W. The placement of parking restrictions on only one
side of the street will simply result in the entire burden
being placed on the side without a parking restriction.

The only solutions acceptable to all residents are the ,
adoption and instrallation of "Permit Parking Only" or "Resident
Parking Only" signs on both sides of 14th Avenue N.W. Both
alternatives are in use in other parts of the metropolitan area,
including around Moore Lake in Fridley and William Mitchell College
of Law in St. Paul.

Sincerely,

Name:

Address;

11') /)
,_;25 oi \ / ,-1- /7J "y, II . l0.

') 5 2 '
.~7\ ~.J I -

/ L/-1A (iA,N~ /1 L i),
