<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br />September 25, 1984 <br /> <br />Sinda stated he had a conversation with Commissioner Salverda <br />who is meeti ng with the County Committee on Fri day. Sa 1 verda <br />requested council's feedback to the letter from Mr. Crea. <br /> <br />Benke strongly recommends that we inform Salverda that our <br />desire is that the park be open for use this winter for cross- <br />country skiing, snow shoeing, walking, and hiking (not ATVls or <br />snowmobiling); doesn't see how we can enforce the closing even <br />if signs are posted. <br /> <br />Blomquist agreed with Benke; would like to see park open with <br />groomed trails. <br /> <br />Janecek asked why put up signs knowing people are going to use <br />the park as they have for the past fifteen years. <br /> <br />Schmidt feels we should get some use out of the park. <br /> <br />Sinda will inform Salverda of council's comments <br /> <br />Schmidt announced that he had received a letter from Group W <br />requesting the right to market cable television within the <br />City of New Brighton, and asked council if there were any <br />objecti ons. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist, to WAIVE THE RULES <br />TO ADD THE GROUP W MARKETING ITEM TO THE ATENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Harcus indicated he has been getting many phone complaints <br />centering on the "mushrooms" and wanting them buried, and the <br />restoration of the lawns. <br /> <br />Schmidt stated that he has visited with citizens, has looked <br />at the boxes with Les Proper and Group Wand discussed the <br />problems, explained procedure for filing complaints, working <br />with Group Wand Proper to get a flier to residents in the <br />underground-utility-neighborhoods letting them know their <br />rights, and acknowledged that some of the problems could have <br />been alleviated. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist, to DIRECT STAFF <br />TO SEND A LETTER TO TERRY SHUSTER, GROUP W, ADVISING THEM <br />THAT THEY MAY MARKET CABLE TELEVISION IN THE CITY OF NEW <br />BRIGHTON. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Ha~~us,,~s~conded by Schmidt, <br /> <br />5 Ayes - Q-"'Nayes. -Mot.ion Carried. <br />....... -" ~ <br /> <br />The meetl~g'J~~f"adjourn~ at 9:12 p.m. <br /> <br />to ADJOURN THE MEETING <br /> <br />Page Eleven <br /> <br />Long Lake Regional <br />Park - Winter <br />Status <br /> <br />Group W Cable TV <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> <br />~P5~ <br />Grego B Harcus, Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />Margar~t ~.~~-n - _ ~' ,-- <br />Fi nance i rector lei ~y_ el erk <br />(SEAL) <br />
