<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br />June 26, 1984 <br /> <br />Winkels stated that both the Business Development Comm- <br />ittee and the Community Development CDmmittee have taken <br />it upon themselves to look at the sign ordinance and <br />have expressed an interest in working on the whole project. <br /> <br />Blomquist indicated the Planning Commission should look <br />specifically at readerboard and temporary signs. <br /> <br />Harcus mentioned that the Planning Commission is concerned <br />about the possibility that the signs used for Stockyard Days, <br />Inc. may be in conflict with the current sign ordinance. <br /> <br />Benke indicated that, as Stockyard Days, Inc. is defi- <br />nitely a civic event, there should not have been too <br />much confusion; however, he indicated some lines should <br />be drawn for proposers and opposers. <br /> <br />Schmidt indicated that we can formalize the ordinance <br />for celebrated activities, then approvals can flow <br />without need for special Council approval on required <br />signs. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Benke, to amend the <br />motion to include DIRECT STAFF TO PREPARE RESOLUTION <br />OF PROPOSED PERMITTED ACTIVITIES FOR CIVIC CELEBRA- <br />TIONS WITH A CLAUSE THAT ALLOWS FOR ADDITIONAL <br />ACTIVITIES WITH COUNCIL APPROVAL. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Amendment carried <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion carried as amended <br /> <br />Sinda asked that this item be deferred in order that <br />it could be determined whether or not approval of this <br />Amendment would require an ordinance change. <br /> <br />LeFevere indicated that, in order to move this item <br />along, Council could waive the reading and hold the <br />first reading at this meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt, to WAIVE THE <br />READING AND HOLD THE FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CABLE COMMISSION ORDINANCE. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Schmidt presented a check for $22,912.50 to the Mayor <br />as reimbursement of the city's expenses for funding, <br />staff costs, etc. <br /> <br />Winkels reviewed the proposed Tax Increment District <br />#5, including the projects of Printcraft, Inc. and <br />Donate11e Tool Company. <br /> <br />Page Four <br /> <br />Cah1e Communications, <br />Amendment Agreement #1 <br />Report 84-169 <br /> <br />Tax Increment District #5 <br />Expansion of Develop- <br />ment District, Set <br />Hearings <br />
