I

I

I

of .

City Council
November 22, 1983
Page #9

Councilmember Blomquist stated that he could recall the beginning of
the relationship with DeLaHunt Voto back in 1978. Councilmember
Blomquist stated that he felt the City was getting a good service for
the cost and felt that they should continue with that service.
Councilmember Blomquist stated that he agreed with the arguement
regarding benefits of continuity and that he strongly encouraged the
Council to continue the relationship with DelaHunt Voto.

Mayor Harcus stated that he felt there were other firms just as
suitable and that dollars saving alone was not the only arguement in
looking at professional services.

Councilmember Janecek questioned if there were any time constraints on
the execution of an agreement regarding auditing services.

Margaret Egan noted that a delay in accepting the proposal could cause
a delay in the 1983 accounting cycle. Margaret Egan also noted that
there are some internal factors in working with new auditors that
would not only cause delay but also cause increase in cost due to the
staff not being familiar with a new auditing firm.

Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to authorize the Mayor and City
Manager to execute an agreement for auditing/accounting services for
1983/1984 with DelaHunt Voto & Company.

Motion by Harcus, seconded by Blomquist to direct staff to negotiate
professional services contract with Lindberg Pierce Architects for
the fire station expansion.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried

Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to authorize the Mayor and
City Manager to execute an amendment to the purchase agremeent dated
May 15, 1983 between W. Robert Strobe1 and the City of New Brighton.
5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried

Council member Janecek noted that the City Manager and herself had
attended the recent Ramsey County league Meeting.

Councilmember Benke noted that he agreed that the Planning Commission
should review the proposed ordinance regarding dish antennaes but his
concern was that the Planning Commission minutes seem to reflect
that the Planning Commission had already made their minds up and that
he would like them to keep an open mind.

Motion by Janecek, seconded by Harcus to direct the Planning Commission
to consider zoning ordinance amendments regulating satellite dish
atennaes.
5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried

Architectural
Services
Fire Station
Report #83-306

Purchase Agreement
Amendment
Report #83-301

General Announce-
memts & Updates

Dish Atennaes
Report #83-302
