<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Counei 1 Minutes <br />February 14, 1984 <br /> <br />Page Ten <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Blomquist reminded the Council and staff of the Ramsey County League of Local <br />Governments' meeting on Wednesday, February 16, 1984 and that State Aid would <br />be the topic. <br /> <br />Harcus noted that on Thursday, February 23, 1984, the Boy Scouts' Indianhead <br />Council will have a recruiting session for volunteers here at City Hall. If <br />you can't make it to our City Hall, there will be another meeting on March 1st <br />at Rosevi 11 e. <br /> <br />Schmidt advised the Council of the change in the Chamber of Commerce's Annual <br />Meetingon Thursday, February 16, 1984. Jim Winkels will be giving an update <br />on items that are under consideration for developers instead of a Question/ <br />Answer Session with the Council. <br /> <br />It was announced that neither Janecek nor Schmidt will be here for the March <br />13, 1984 Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to have the following copied for Council: "The Tortoise <br />Report" (via Steve Schmidt); Memo to Planning Commission Members from Brenda <br />Krueger regarding Pollution Aspects of Waste-Energy Plants; and newsclippings <br />regarding dioxins (via Bob Benke). <br /> <br />Schmidt presented the Council with a commendation plaque from St. John the <br />Baptist Church which he received along with a check for $250 at their parade on <br />Friday, February 3, 1984. The monies are designated for Veteran's Park. <br /> <br />Benke suggested the Council read through and be familiar with "Proposed 1984 <br />City Policies and Pri'orities" from the League of Minnesota Cities. He further <br />stated that the League will be meeting for a Legislative Conference on Tuesday <br />and Wednesday, March 13 and 14, and that this conference will be attended by <br />Benke, Blomquist, Schmidt and the City Manager. <br /> <br />Jim Winkels distributed information regarding the Rodeway Hotel and briefly <br />discussed it with Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Janecek, to adjourn the meeting. <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br />The Council Meeting adjourned at 9:01 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />'~ <br /> <br />reus, Mayor <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />~- <br />
