<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />July 12, 1983 <br />Page Eight <br /> <br />cash registers Gross Profit Margins would be available. <br /> <br />Councilmember Blomquist stated the Liquor Department <br />was always late in getting its reports to the Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated the Council needed as <br />much information as possible so that decisions can <br />be based on the conclusive information received. <br /> <br />The Liquor Director stated the Liquor Operation is a <br />business and must have comparable data to that of <br />other businesses. He suggested the City take an out- <br />side consultant who was an expert in the business and <br />have them lead the Council through to give them a <br />greater understanding of the operation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated the Council had asked <br />for names of those firms that were professionals, in <br />January. <br /> <br />The Liquor Director stated he was never given the <br />authority by the former City Manager to solicit firms <br />for audit proposals, and that he would provide that <br />information if directed by the Acting City Manager. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke stated the Council had consis- <br />tently been asking for information and that between <br />now and the worksession date differences be'tween the <br />Finance Department reports and figures must be worked <br />out before the meeting to get to the bottom line. <br />He further stated that the Council was not rejecting <br />the proposal but putting it on hold until the report <br />is complete. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to waive the <br />reading and adopt a RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING JOINT <br />AND COOPERATIVE PURCHASING OF FIRE FIGHTING EQUIP- <br />MENT BY THE SEVEN COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT JOINT <br />POWERS PURCHASING CONSORTIUM. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Finance Director reviewed the staff report <br />regarding payment to DelaHunt Voto & Company, Ltd. <br />for 1982 Auditing/Accounting Services. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to authorize <br />payment to DelaHunt, voto, & Company, Ltd. in the <br />amount of $28,490 for the 1982 Auditing/Accounting <br />Services. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #83-82 <br />AUTHORIZING JOINT <br />PURCHASING OF <br />FIRE FIGHTING <br />EQUIPMENT <br />Report #83-191 <br /> <br />Payment to <br />DelaHunt, Voto <br />& Company, Ltd. <br />Report #83-176 <br />
