<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />August 16, 1983 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Public Hearings <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the project 82-1, <br />project costs and proposed assessments. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Rekucki, 1525 - 28th Ave. N.W. <br />stated that he was happy to see the project <br />completed and that the City did a fine job. <br />He questioned whether he was being assessed <br />for improvements that were already paid for <br />by the residents when the street was originally <br />put in. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated he agreed with <br />the logic and questioned whether it could be <br />determined if there was any difference in <br />cost in reference to giving credit for the <br />improvements paid for at the time the street <br />was installed. <br /> <br />The City Engineer responded that Mr. Rekucki <br />would be paying for a little curbing now, but <br />he had been benefitting from the improvements <br />installed previously, for which he paid <br />nothing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke questioned whether Lots <br />6, 7, & 8 were assessed for any utilities <br />previously. <br /> <br />The City Engineer responded that they were <br />not. <br /> <br />Mr. Rukucki stated that he did not feel that <br />he should pay for something that had been paid <br />for before. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke responded that Mr. Rukucki <br />was paying now for something that had benefitted <br />him for years. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to close <br />the hearing. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Improvement project~ <br />Assessment Hearings <br />Report #83-202 <br /> <br />Improvement Project <br />#82-1, 27th Ave. <br />N.W. St. & Utilit. <br />7:37-7:45 p.m. <br />RESOLUTION #83-90 <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to waive <br />the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENT <br />ON 27TH AVENUE N.W. STREET AND UTILITIES, PROJECT 82-1. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br />
