<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />August 16, 19B3 <br />Page Four <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the project 82-7, <br />project costs and proposed assessments. <br /> <br />No one was present at the public hearing to <br />speak on the issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to <br />close the hearing. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to waive <br />the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION ADOPTING <br />ASSESSMENT FOR INNSBRUCK 3RD ADDITION, STREET <br />AND UTILITIES, PROJECT 82-7. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the project 82-8, <br />project costs and proposed assessments. <br /> <br />Mr. Marlin Ervasti, Senior Vice President <br />of St. Mary's Hospital, stated that they <br />were asking that the assessment be spread over <br />15 years at interest not exceeding 12 percent, <br />that the first installment of principal be <br />deferred for ten years, or until the property is <br />improved, platted or sold, whichever occurs <br />first. ' <br /> <br />Councilmember Janecek questioned whether St. <br />Mary's would be willing to pay the interest. <br /> <br />Mr. Ervasti stated that they would be willing <br />to pay annual interest on the assessment if <br />principal deferrment was granted. <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus thanked St. Mary's for cooperating <br />with the City by donating the north 30 feet of its <br />property for the street, but that he would like <br />to have further financial information from our <br />staff before making a decision on this. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke questioned whether there had <br />been anything done on this property. <br /> <br />Mr. Ervasti stated that St. Mary's might be willing <br />to consider sale of the lots, and that they might <br />still have some interest in putting in an emergi- <br />center on the east side of this property.
