<br />t <br /> <br />I; <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 660 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE SECTION 9-44 <br />RELATING TO RECREATIONAL FIRES <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON HEREBY ORDAINS: <br /> <br />The New Brighton City Code Section 9-44 is amended as follows: <br /> <br />Section 9-44 <br /> <br />RECREA TIONAL AND GROUND THAWING FIRES <br /> <br />(a) Fires in City parks. Fires in open space sites as defined in Section 19 (b) (2) shall be regulated by <br />the provisions of Section 19-5 (e). <br /> <br />(b) Fires on private property. Outside fires of charcoal or gas used solely for recreational purposes or <br />solely for the preparation offood, shall be permitted. Coke fires to thaw frozen ground to install or <br />repair streets and utilities shall be permitted. Outside fires of wood used solely for recreational, <br />ceremonial, food preparation or social purposes shall be permitted only if all of the following <br />conditions are met: <br /> <br />(I) Fires may only be set in a fireplace, pit, or fire ring designed for wood fires for <br />recreational or food preparation purposes. <br /> <br />(2) The size of the fire shall not exceed three feet in any dimension. <br /> <br />(3) Prier 16 8tflrting the fire, tile l'er8en re8pan8ibk fer tfte fire 8ftall inronn the Rftffl3ey Catmt; <br />ei31'ateher aftfte name aftftc eWfler, the adclre88, ftnft tfte !elephant: ftttmber afthe I'f61'erty <br />where the fire i8 ta be laeated Me the time af the nre. <br /> <br />(4) A garden hose and water supply or other adequate fire extinguishing equipment must be <br />available and a competent adult person must be in constant attendance until the fire has <br />been extinguished. <br /> <br />(5) No fire may be set or allowed to continue burning if the wind is in excess often miles per <br />hour. <br /> <br />(6) Only clean wood may be used as fuel, and no fire accelerants may be used. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication. <br /> <br />A 1'TEST: <br /> <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />
