The Council flndll: that the summary' of the Fje-codiflcation oontalned herein would olearly Inform the public of the intent and effect of the Ae- codification; that the Ae-codification Is lel'lgthy; and that publication by summary is appropriate. . 2. Summary of Ae-codification. The Re- -Codification incorporateS ordinances tilrougfj- Ordinance NO. 677 into the City's Code and makes changes that are, summariZed as follows: 2.1. The entire Code has been reformatted to a unifOrm numbering system. 2.2 The text has been modified to be gender neutral. ' 2.3 Aeferences to Mlnnellota Statutell and Aules have been updated. 2.4 various fees set by ordinance were deleted and are now to b$ set by Counci,l resolution. 2.5 In many cases the assignment of duties to llpecific staff positions have been deleted to reflect administrative reorganiza- tions and to allow flexibility in staff duty assignments. 2.6 Many changes in grammar, punctua- tion and form have been made, not affecting or altering the sublltances of the COde. 3. Adoption and Approval 3.1 The Re~codification is adopted and enacted. 3.2 The summary contained herein Is approved. 4. Publication . 4.1 The Finance Director/City Clerk is authorited and directed to prepare sufficient cop/ell o,f the Re.codiflcatlon for use by the City Council and lltaff llnd for general distribution to the public in accordance with the City's policies regarding the distribution and availability of City documents. 4.2 The Finance Director/City Clerk Is directed to distribute one copy of the Ae- codification to each of the public libraries in Arden Hills, Shorevlew and'Mounds View and to maintain one or more copies for viewing and ulle by the general public at City Hall during regular business hours. , 4.3 The Finance Director Is directed forthwith to publish this ordinance In the City's offlclal newspaper.
