Vaccination required. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any dog or cat owner to keep or maintain any dog or cat older <br />than six (6) months of age unless it shall have been vaccinated with an anti-rabies vaccine by a <br />licensed veterinarian. <br /> <br />Sec. 6-50. Tags. <br /> <br />A. Dog and cat owners shall cause a rabies vaccination tag to be affixed permanently by a <br />metal fastening device to the collar of their dog(s) or cat(s) in such a manner that the <br />tag may be easily observed. <br /> <br />B. Counterfeit tags. No person shall counterfeit or attempt to counterfeit the dog or cat <br />rabies vaccination tags. <br /> <br />C. Transfer of tags. No person shall transfer a dog or a cat rabies vaccination tag from <br />one dog or cat to another. <br /> <br />Sec. 6-51 - 6-59. Reserved. <br /> <br />Sections 6-60 to 6-69. Fees. <br /> <br />Any dog or cat impounded under this section may be redeemed by the owner or keeper <br />by payment of an impoundment fee, boarding charge and veterinary service charge. <br /> <br />Sec. 6-99. Disposition of unredeemed animals. <br /> <br />Any dog or cat which is not redeemed within the time allowed by this article may be <br />sold for not less than the amount provided in section 6-98, to anyone desiring to purchase the <br />same, if not requested by a licensed education or scientific institution under Minnesota Statutes <br />35.71. AIl sums received above the costs and tax shall be placed by the clerk in the general <br />fund of the city. Any dog or cat which is not claimed by the owner or sold shall be disposed <br />of. <br />
