<br />. <br />r <br /> <br />-~ <br /> <br />ji <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY 01' NEW BRIGHTON <br />ORDINANCE NO. 595 <br /> <br />AN INTERIM ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE LICENSURE <br />OF PEDDLERS, SOLlCITOR.S, TRANSIENT MERCHANTS <br />AND HANDBILL DISTRIBUTORS: AFFECTING CITY CODE <br />SECTIONS 20-20 TBllOUGB 20-28. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. The practice of going in and upon private residences in the City <br />iby solicitors, peddlers, transient merchants and handbill distributors, as defined <br />:1n City Code Section 20-1, not bAving been requested or invited so to do by the <br />iowner or owners, occupant or occuprmts ot said private residences, for the purpose <br />of soliciting orders tor the sale of ~dfi, wares and merchandise and/or disposing <br />!bf and/or peddling or hawking the same is declared to be a nuisance and punishable <br />!~ such nuisance as a misdemeanor. <br /> <br />See. 2. The provisions of Section 1 shall not apply to any person peddling <br />)01' se~ the products ot the farm or garden occupied and. cultivated by such person <br />;br to any person who is engaged in activities described in Section 1 pursuant to a <br />iburrent license granted by the city councU prior to the effective date of this <br />i prdinance. <br /> <br />See. 3. Durin" the period this ordinance is in ettect, the provisions of <br />,City Code Sections 20-20 throuih 20-28 are suspended except as to licenses granted <br />;lbY the city council prior to the effective date of this ordinance. <br /> <br />Sec. 4.
