S73 <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />I <br />J 1"'- <br />! <br /> <br />I <br />" <br />i <br />\ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE SECTION 9-44 <br />RELATING TO RECREATIONAL FIRES <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON HEREBY ORDAINS: <br /> <br />The New Brighton city Code Section 9-44 is amended as follows: <br /> <br />Section 9-44 RECREATIONAL AND GROUND THAWING FIRES <br /> <br />(a) Fires in city parks. Fires in open space sites as <br />defined in Section 19(b)(2) shall be regulated by the <br />provisions of Section 19-5(e). <br /> <br />(b) Fires on private property. Outside fires of charcoal <br />or gas used solely for recreational purposes or solely <br />for the preparation of food, shall be permitted. Coke <br />fires to thaw frozen ground to install or repair <br />streets and utilities shall be permitted. Outside <br />fires of wood used solely for recreational, <br />ceremonial, food preparation or social purposes shall <br />be permitted only if all of the following conditions <br />are met: <br /> <br />(1) Fires may only be set in a fireplace, pit, or <br />fire ring designed for wood fires for <br />recreational or food preparation purposes. <br /> <br />(2) The size of the fire shall not exceed three feet <br />in any dimension. <br /> <br />(3) Prior to starting the fire, the person respon- <br />sible for the fire shall inform the Ramsey County <br />dispatcher of the name of the owner, the address, <br />and the telephone number of the property where <br />the fire is to be located and the time of the <br />fire. <br /> <br />(4) A garden hose and water supply or other adequate <br />fire extinguishing equipment must be available i <br />and a competent adult person must be in constant; <br />attendance until the fire has been extinguished. : <br /> <br />(5) No fire may be set or allowed to continue burning <br />if the wind is in excess of ten miles per hour. <br /> <br />(6) Only clean wood may be used as fuel, and no fire! <br />accelerants may be used. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />its passage and pUblication. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted by the City Council this <br /> <br />28th <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />NOVAFlhBr <br /> <br />, 1989. <br /> <br />, --t/'/ <br /> <br />,..----" /7 <br /> <br />If <br />
