AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 21-59 AND SECTION 21-69 OF THE <br />!jNEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE <br /> <br />i; <br /> <br />The New Brighton City Council does ordain: <br /> <br />Section I. That Section 21-59, Holidays, is hereby amended <br />Ii to read as follows: <br />I' <br /> <br />b~ <br /> <br />:i <br />, <br /> <br />a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, the <br />following holidays will be observed as paid holidays <br />for all permanent City employees: <br /> <br />New Year's Day, January 1 <br /> <br />President's Day, the third Monday in February <br /> <br />Memorial Day, the last Monday in May <br /> <br />Independence Day, July 4 <br /> <br />Labor Day, the first Monday in September <br /> <br />Veterans Day, November 11 <br /> <br />Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in November <br /> <br />The day following Thanksgiving Day <br /> <br />The afternoon prior to Christmas Day (~ day) <br /> <br />Christmas Day, December 25 <br /> <br />The Employee's Birthday <br /> <br />Floating Holiday (~ day) <br /> <br />'., <br /> <br />b) Whenever one of the above holidays, except the afternoon <br />prior to Christmas Day, falls on a Saturday, the preced- <br />ing day shall be observed as a holiday. Whenever one <br />of the above holidays, except the afternoon prior to <br />Christmas Day, falls on a Sunday, the following day shall <br />be observed as a holiday. <br /> <br />c) All permanent employees who are required to be on duty <br />on any holiday shall either be given the following day <br />as a holiday or given an additional day of vacation <br />leave, at the discretion of the City Manager. <br /> <br />Section 21-69, Rate of Accumulation, is <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Each permanent employee shall have vacation leave based on <br />consecutive years of full-time service accumulated as <br />follows: <br /> <br />a) The first three years of full-time service (5/6) of a <br />working day for each calendar month of full-time <br />service or major fraction thereof except as noted in (i). <br /> <br />b) Years four (4) and five (5) of full-time service 11/12 <br />of a working day for each calendar month of full-time <br />service or major fraction thereof except as noted in (i). <br />
