<br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON

<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7-31, 7-35, 7-36, AND 7-37 OF THE CITY CODE
<br />PERTAINING TO THE LICENSING OF CONTRACTORS.
<br />
<br />Section 7-31, Required, is hereby amended to read:
<br />
<br />Before any person, firm or corporation shall erect, construct, enlarge,
<br />alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish any building or
<br />structure, a contractor's license shall be obtained from the City.
<br />
<br />Section 7-35. Insurance - Generally, is hereby amended to read:
<br />
<br />No license granted under the provisions of this Article shall become
<br />effective until the licensee shall have filed with the City a certificate of
<br />insurance which shall remain in full force and effect during the term of the
<br />license and the insurance shall contain a provision that the policy cannot be
<br />cancelled without ten (10) days written notice to the City. Any license
<br />issued under this Article shall terminate immediately in event the insurance
<br />is cancelled or expires,
<br />
<br />The insurance shall provide at least $100,000 for injuries per person, and
<br />subject to the same limit for each person, for an amount of not less than
<br />$300,000 per accident, and property damage in the amount of at least
<br />$100,000 per accident.
<br />
<br />Also, proof of workers' compensation shall be on file with the City. The
<br />limits shall be those required by the State.
<br />
<br />Section 7-36, Same-Master gas installers. is hereby deleted in entirety,
<br />
<br />Section 7-37. Expiration,
<br />
<br />No license issued under the prOVlSlons of this Article shall be for a longer
<br />period than one year, and all licenses shall expire on the thirty-first day
<br />of March of each year,
<br />
<br />The first reading of this Ordinance was held on February 24, 1987.
<br />
<br />The second reading of this Ordinance was held on March 10, 1987.
<br />
<br />Adopted this 10th day of March, 1987.
