<br />""',~ .t., <br />.!~. <br /> <br />'...&: ,lll <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 261 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 285:10 OF THE NEW BRIGHTON VILLAGE <br />CODE RELATING TO COMPOSITION OF HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br /> <br />THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON does <br />ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. SECTION 285:10 of the New Brighton Village Code <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />..'~, <br />...'f <br /> <br />SECTION 285:10 COMPOSITION. The Commission shall consist <br />of nine members to be appointed by the Mayor by and with the <br />advice and consent of the Council. Two of such members shall be <br />persons under 21 years of age on the date of their appointment <br />and shall be known as "youth members." Members of the Commission <br />shall be appointed for terms of three (3) years, except that any <br />person appointed to fill a vacancy occurring prior to the <br />expiration of the term for which his predecessor was appointed <br />shall be appointed only for the remainder of such term. Upon <br />the expiration of his term of office, a member shall continue to <br />serve until his successor is appointed and shall have qualified. <br />The commission as of the eLfective date of this ordinance shall <br />consist of the seven persons holding office at that time plus two <br />youth members to be appointed and the expiration date of each of <br />the terms of the seven current members is extended to December 31 <br />of the year in which that ,term of office would otherwise expire a <br />all new appointments shall be made for three year terms expiring <br />on December 31 of the third year. The members of the Commission <br />shall serve without compensation and may be removed from office <br />for cause by the Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br />t- <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Effective Date.
