M I NNE:SOTA , . .~ ,< ORDINANCE NO. / 96-- VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA" " I AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 152 WHICH IS AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 35 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 35 WHICH IS AN ORDINANCE TO LICENSE TAXICAB AND REGUIATE THEIR OPERATION IN THE VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON, MINNESOTA SECTION I. Ordinance No. 152, which is an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 35 is hereby repealed. SECTION II. Section 10 of Ordinance No. 35 entitled "Liabili ty Insurance Required" is amended to read as follows: Before a taxicab license shall be delivered to any operator he shall deposit with the Village Clerk a policy or policies of an insurance company or 'companies duly licensed to transact such insurance business in this state, insuring the operator of any taxicab licensed hereunder against loss from the liability imposed by law for damages on account of bodily injuries or death of any person, or for damages to property resulting from the ownership, maintenance or use of any taxicab owned and operated under any such license, and agreeing to pay to any judgment creditor to the extent of the amounts specified in such policy or policies, any final judgment rendered against the assured by reason of such liability. The policy or policies shall be approved by the village attorney as to form and compliance with this ordiannce. The limit in any such insurance policy of such liability of the insurer on account of the ownership, main- tenance and use of any such taxicab shall not be less than Twe.i.tty-five Thousand ($25,000.00) Dollars for bodily in- juries to or death of one person, and Fifty Thousand ($50,000.00) Dollars on account of anyone accident result- ing in injuries to and/or death of more than one person, and a total of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars liability for damage to property of others, arising out of anyone accident. SECTION III. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect following its approval by the Village Council and pUblication in the legal newspaper.
