Adoption of Fire Preven.tion Code. <br /> <br />There is hereby adopted by the Village of New Brighton for the <br /> <br />purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life <br /> <br />and property frO!'l fire or explosion, that certain code known as the Fire Preven- <br /> <br />tion Code recommended b;y the Nationa120ard of Fire Underwriters I being <br /> <br />particularly t,ne 1956 edition thereof, of "\mich code not less than three <br /> <br />(3) copies have been and no\.[ are filed in the office of the Clerk of the <br /> <br />Village and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set <br /> <br />out at length herein, and from the elate on which this ordinance shall take <br /> <br />effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the li:nits of the <br /> <br />Village of New Brighton. <br /> <br />Section 2. I~stablishment and Duties of Bureau of Fire Prevention. <br /> <br />a. The Fire Prevention Code shall be enforced by the :Jurea u of <br /> <br />Fire Prevention in the Fire Department of the Village of :New Brighton whicll is <br /> <br />hereb:,-' estab1islled and whicll shall be operated under the supervision of the <br /> <br />Chief of the Fire DepartJuent. <br /> <br />b. The Chief of the Fire Depart1,nent may detail suchrnembers of' the <br /> <br />Fire DepartDlent as llIe:ilbers of the ::'ureau of Fire Prevention and as inspectors <br /> <br />as sball from tirle to time be necessary. <br /> <br />C. A report of the:.3ureau of Fire Prevention shall be :rlade annually <br /> <br />and translni tted to the Village Council. <br /> <br />Section 3. Definitions. <br /> <br />a. 1:lherever the word "Hunicipalit~T" is used in the Fire <br /> <br />Prevention Code, it shall be held to mean the Village of New Bi'ighton. <br /> <br />b. vJhenever the term "Corporation Counsel" :'Ls used in the Fire <br /> <br />Prevention Code, it shall be:leld to mean the Attorne;y for the Village of <br />Nelf lJrighton. <br />
