<br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />Pursuant to notice thereof a regular meeting of the New Brighton <br />City Council was held Tuesday May 8, 1979, at 7:30 p.m. in the <br />municipal building, 803 5th Avenue NW, New Brighton, Minnesota. <br />Present: Mayor James Senden, Councilmembers, Bob Benke, <br />Roger Blomquist, Jeanette Janecek, Fritz Werdouschegg <br />Also <br />Present: Dennis S. Zylla, City Manager <br />Donald L. Lais, City Attorney <br />Les Proper, Director of Public Works <br />James F. Winkels, Director of Community Development <br />Vernon C. Pederson, City Clerk/Treasurer <br />Minutes <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Janecek to amend the minutes <br />of April 24, 1979 with the following corrections: page 2, regard <br />Improvement 79-10 to read: "Mr. Logelin presented a petition to <br />the council opposing the 11th and 10th Avenue improvements. Mayor <br />Senden directed that the petition become a part of the records." <br />The following people expressed concerns with all or a portion of <br />the rroject: <br />Roger Joyce, 744 10th Avenue <br />Jim Doherty, 751 10th Avenue <br />Len Juran, 803 8th Avenue <br />Walter Bozenzie, 809 Highway 100 <br />Vern Lunzerm, 788 8th Avenue <br />Vernon Gustafson, 704 10th Street <br />Carroll Lentzmeyer, 769 10th Avenue <br />The following spoke in favor of the project: <br />Duane Waldoch, 769 10th Street <br />Kathy Bona, 703 2nd Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Councilman Werdouschegg spoke as a private citizen and presented an <br />alternative plan for the 10th Street improvement. <br />Page 6, re: Scarp-Heilman, to read: "Motion by Werdouschegg sec- <br />onded by Blomquist to direct the city attorney and city manager <br />that the language of the resolution proposing industrial develop <br />rent be cleaned up so that there is uniformity of language and <br />wording regarding the tax exempt financing and present it to the <br />council the first meeting in May (May 8) and that continued dis- <br />cussion between the applicant and staff regarding the building <br />design, etc. be held." <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br /> <br />Page,7, re: wetlands, change "matter" to "letter".
