read i <br />I_1 <br />►ir=. <br />Secti <br />as th <br />!Council Memberintroduced the following resolution, the <br />ih of which was dispensed with y unanimous consent and moved its adoption. <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 08-015 <br />SOLUTION REQUESTING APPROVAL OF SPECIAL LEGISLATION BY THE <br />MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ("Council") of the City of New Brighton, <br />sota ("City") as follows: <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Laws of Minnesota 1998, Chapter 389, Article 11, <br />n 24, the Minnesota Legislature ("Legislature") designated an area within the City <br />Northwest Quadrant and provided the use of tax increment therein; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has incurred substantial expenses in land acquisition, <br />demo ition, remediation, land preparation and public improvements within the Northwest <br />Qua ant; and <br />WHEREAS, there are substantial costs to be incurred by the City to complete <br />dev I pment within the Northwest Quadrant; and <br />WHEREAS, Exhibit A is special legislation requesting an appropriation from the <br />sale f State bonds; and <br />WHEREAS, Exhibit B is special legislation allowing for the pooling of three tax <br />incrErnent districts outside of the Northwest Quadrant and the extension of the duration <br />of th n. existing tax increment districts within the Northwest Quadrant. <br />the <br />Cou <br />follo <br />NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City requests the Legislature to approve <br />:tial legislation attached as Exhibits A and B. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City this 12 r.LL day of , 2008. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />;il Member B„�and upon vote being taken thereon the <br />ng voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Larson, Councilmembers Burg and Doffing <br />
