II .;... <br /> i I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 03-082 <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Resolution authorizing amendments to the retirement benefit lev.el for the firefighter's relief <br />associaton bylaws <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the New Brighton Firefighters Relief Association has a pension plan that <br />benefits the retiring members of the Association; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton and the New Brighton Firefighters Relief Association <br />have discussed a long term funding strategy relating to retirement benefit levels; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton and the New Brighton Firefighters Relief Association <br />has agreed that the funding level for 2003 be amended to $4,300 per year of service; <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton and the New Brighton Firefighters Relief Association <br />have agreed to a voluntary funding strategy for detennining future retirement benefit levels; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton and the New Brighton Firefighters Relief Association <br />have agreed to meet no less than once annually to review and discuss the future retirement <br />benefit level strategy; with this funding strategy calling for $100 per year increases through <br />the year 2012, subject to the fund meeting certain criteria; <br /> <br />WHEREAS; the City of New Brighton has agreed to increase its contribution to the New <br />Brighton Firefighter's Relief Association annually based on a cost of living adjustment; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council will be required to authorize any benefit level changes as <br />required by the Fire Relief Association bylaws. <br /> <br />Now Therefore Be It Resolved, THE CITY COUNCIL DETERMINES THAT <br />RETIREMENT BENEFIT LEVELS IN THE FIREFIGHTERS RELIEF ASSOCIA nON <br />BYLAWS BE AMENDED TO $4,300 PER YEAR OF SERVICE FOR THE YEAR 2003. <br /> <br />Adopted this 8 TI-l day of December 2003 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />Steve Larson, Mayor <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br /> <br />, , <br />I' <br />, I <br />1 i <br /> <br />'i ATTJ;ST: , - <br />,/ /. ,,',-.1~' t//} )' L- ". - <br />/l"zl jZ~l-<: {;,-[.
