<br /> "drh I <br /> ( <br /> . .I <br /> ....-:-.... f' <br /> --, <br /> RESOLUTION NO 2239 A <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA I <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> Ii CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION <br /> VARIANCE APPLICATION VN-208 I <br /> I WHEREAS, An application for a Variance entitled VN-208 <br /> , <br /> I has been made by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company to permit <br /> I a short-term parking area with less than the required front <br /> yard setback, lack of the required concrete curbing and <br /> r dustless surface and having more than the permitted number of <br /> driveways. I <br /> WHEREAS, The procedural history of the application is as I <br /> follows: <br /> l. That an application for Variance, VN-208 was filed <br /> with the City of New Brighton on August 6, 1979. <br /> I 2. That such application was reviewed by the New Brighton <br /> I Planning Commission Board of Review on August 22, 1979. <br /> 3. That the City Council, pursuant to published and mailedj <br /> notices, held a public hearing on August 28, 1979, all, <br /> person's present at the hearing were given an i <br /> opportunity to be heard. ! <br /> I 4. The written comments and analysis of the City staff, <br /> the Planning Commission minutes and recommendations <br /> were considered. I <br /> I NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the New Brighton City I <br /> I Council makes the following Findings of Fact in respect to I <br /> I V N -2 0 8 ; I <br /> I <br /> l. That the applicant needs 16 additional parking <br /> II spaces; <br /> 2 . That a hardship would result if the employees of the <br /> applicant were required to park on the street <br /> because of potential traffic, safety and road <br /> 'I <br /> I, maintenance problems: <br /> I 3. That the time period to install equipment in the I <br /> II newly completed addition is unique to this I <br /> II particular company; <br /> I 4. That there is no location in a permitted area on <br /> the site that would accommodate t~e needed parking I <br /> spaces. <br /> ,I BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Application, VN-208 <br /> II <br /> II is hereby approved subject to the following conditions: <br /> ! <br /> I <br /> r l. That the parking lot be designed to make use <br /> of only the existing driveway for access and <br /> i that the parking be adjacent and perpendicular <br /> , <br /> to the existing building; and , <br /> 2 . That the proposed parking area have a 6 foot <br /> fence on the north and east sides to screen <br /> i the parking from the public right-of-way; <br /> and <br /> 3.
