<br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND MANAGER TO EXECUTE JOINT POWERS
<br />, AGREEMENT AS IT RELATES TO COMMUNI.TY ONE,' INC. PROPOSED YOUTH
<br />, CENTER
<br />
<br />
<br />WHEREAS the village 'of New Brighton pursuant to Resolution
<br />".. NO. 965 declared its intention to help provide for teenage
<br />, -'residents of District No. 621, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS a group of citizens known as Community One, Inc. has
<br />encouraged and promoted the establishment of a center for social,
<br />cultural and recreational activities' 'of. you'ngresidents of
<br />Independent- School District No. 621, which center will be known
<br />as a Teen Center and will be operated by the Youth Services
<br />Bureau, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS the use of land and buildings for such Teen Center
<br />has been provided by Independent School District No. 621, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS the Youth Services Bureau has obtained sufficient
<br />.. financial support to operate such Teen Center except for the cost
<br />of hiring a full-time direc~or, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS the parties to this agreement desire to provide the
<br />funds necessary to hire a full-time director for such Teen Center.,
<br />and to establish terms and conditions to implement such desire, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS the proposed contribution by the Village of New
<br />Brighton amounts to $4,800.00, and
<br />
<br />..".' WHEREAS the Council of the Village of New Brighton after
<br />reviewing the proposed Joint Powers agreement concur with its
<br />contents
<br />
<br />NOW THEREFORE BElT RESOLVED by the Council of the village
<br />of New Brighton that the Mayor and Manager be authorized and are
<br />',hereby ordered and directed to execute the attached Joint Powers
<br />...-?\greement by and for the Village of New Brighton
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED; That an amount of $4,800.00 be
<br />.. . transferred from the conbingency Account within the General Fund
<br />to contributions within the Park Fund and that transfers be made
<br />'" at such t'iroeas contribution is remitted to Community One, Inc.
