COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />VILLAGE OF N.EW BRIGHTON <br /> <br /> <br />~OLUTION ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY BETTERMENT TASK FORCE AND <br />DEFINING DuTIES AND RESPONSIBILIT~ES <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Village Councilahd Administration of the Village <br />of New Brighton have become increasingly concerned about the state <br />of, New Brighton' snatural resourc~s, the general quality of the <br />e~vironment, and other eqological,matters affecting the quality of <br />'life in New Brighton, and <br /> <br />WHER~S various levels of government, citizens groups, and <br />"conunittees,have expressed their concerns for similar matters by <br />making monies .. and other resources available to conduct programs <br />and projects some of which have an effect on the Village of New <br />Brighton and its residents, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS while some of these efforts have been beneficial, <br />others have been inadequate, inefficient, and uncoordinated <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That. the village of New <br />Brighton does hereby establish within the Village a task force to <br />define and coordinate programs of an ecological nature that may <br />'be of benefit to the citizens of our community and to 'the better- <br />ment of the community in general: <br /> <br />Subdvisionl. Title. This organization shall be known as <br />the Community Betterment Task Force. <br /> <br />Subdivision 2. Purpose and Scope. The purpose of this <br />advisory task force shall be to stimulate interest in maintaining <br />and improving the quality of life in the village of New Brighton; <br />to be informed about laws, policies, programs, funding and <br />regulations of all levels of governments, which may have ecological <br />significance for New Brighton and its citizens; and to advise the <br />Village Council on ecological matters that may be of interest to <br />the Councilor may require action on the1part of the~Council for <br />implementation. To inventory the various projects and programs presently <br />being.. lilpdertaken by various levels of government, citizen <br />groups, and committees that are directed toward the <br />solution of these pr~bleItis. This shall include the <br />identification of various possible sources of funds from <br />outside of the community that the Village could use in <br />programs of its own. <br />
