<br /> WHEREAS the roof of the Municipal Liquor Store had developed
<br /> leaks in'several locations, and
<br /> WHEREAS a temporary patch was applied to an area assuming to
<br /> be the source of the problems, and
<br /> WHEREAS after a more thorough investigation it was revealed
<br /> that there exists substantial deterioration of a considerable
<br /> area of the roof of the Municipal Liquor Store, and
<br /> WHEREAS on Saturday, January 23, 1971, it was necessary for
<br /> the safety and convenience of customers to close a portion of
<br /> the onsale operation because of dripping water and concern over
<br /> eventual dropping of the ceiling, and
<br /> 'WHERJ&AS any delay in making necessary repairs could cause
<br /> additional damage to this stxucture and its contents, and
<br /> WHEREAS on January 25, 1971, a proposal was received to
<br /> 'repair the roof immediately to prevent potential damage situation
<br /> for customers or the closing of the Municipal Liquor Store
<br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the New Brighton Village
<br /> Council declare that an emergency exists to protect the safety of
<br /> employees ,and customers of the Municipal Liquor Store and further
<br /> Gons,equentialdaIhage to the building, and
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the proposal received from
<br /> E. R. Berwald Roofing company(a copy of which is attached to this
<br /> resolution} in the amount of, $2,850.00 be accepted for execution
<br /> and the Manager be authorized to execute necessary document to
<br /> form a contract based thereon and to do ,all ,things necessary to
<br /> , proceed with necessary work immediately, and to do all things
<br /> nec::essaryto proceed with necessary work immediately.
