<br />~ ~ <br />" <br /> t-' \ ,., L- .~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO .:1 a 3 ro <br /> STA'IE OF MINNESarA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGH'IDN <br /> RESOLUTION" AWARDING CCMPREHENSIVE INSURAN:E '10 THE HOME INSUR- <br /> ANCE CCMPANY REPRESENTED BY THE VALLEY VIEW, INC., AGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton desires to obtain canprehensive business <br /> and workers' canpensation insurance in accordance with certain predetermined <br /> specifications; and <br />WHEREAS, the procedural history of awarding said carrprehensi ve insurance <br /> program by the City is as follows: <br />l. On May 23, 1978 the New Brighton City Council directed that specifications <br /> inviting bids on the City's canprehensi ve insurance program be prepared; <br />2. Published notice inviting proposal on the City's insurance appeared June <br /> 1, 8, and 15, 1978 in the New Brighton Bulletin; <br />3. On July 5, 1978, at 1:00 o'clock p.m., the City received and opened <br /> one (1) proposal on the City's insurance program; <br />4. On July 6, 1978, the administration, after reviewing the only insurance pro- <br /> rx>sa1 received, recorrmended that the City Council reject the tendered proposal and <br /> readvertise for bids to be opened July 24, 1978; <br />5. On July 11, 1978, the New Brighton City Council rejected the only bid <br /> received on its canprehensive insurance program, then directed the administration <br /> to negotiate a canprehensive insurance program for the City, subject to Council <br /> approval, for the least cost, for the best coverage, and further directed the adminis- <br /> tration to obtain insurance protection for the City during the interim; <br />6. On August 31, 1978, the administration, at a special neeting of the New <br /> Brighton City Council, recarnElded a negotiated insurance proposal with The Hare <br /> Insurance Company, represented by the Valley View, Inc., Agency. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the New Brighton City Council makes the <br /> fol1CMing findings of fact in respect to the negotiated award of a canprehensive <br /> insurance contract to The Hone Insurance Company, as represented by the Valley Vie.N, <br /> Inc., Agency, to wit: <br />1. That the carpetitive bidding method initially adopted by the City to <br /> obtain a canprehensive insurance program has failed to attract m::>re than one (1) <br /> (~'o 10 <br />
