<br />"' , <br />~ \ <br /> RESOWTION NO. 1$9:J. <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A 20 MILE PER HOUR <br />SPEED LIMIT ON SILVER LANE AND OAKWOOD DRIVE IN THE VICINITY <br />OF THE SILVER OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. <br />WHEREAS, the 1975 Minnesota State Legislature changed <br />Minnesota Statutes by adding Subd. 5a to Section 169.14 <br />enabling local authorities to establish speed limits in school <br />zones on roads under local jurisdiction. and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of New Brighton has <br />had a school pedestrian safety study conducted in the Silver <br />Oaks Elementary School, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of New Brighton <br />deems it proper and in the public interest that the speed limit <br />in the vicinity of the Silver Oaks Elementary school be lowered <br />to 20 miles per hour for the safety of the walking student. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of New Brighton does hereby order the establishment of <br />a 20 mile per hour speed limit on Oakwood Drive and Silver Lane <br />in the vicinity of the Silver Oaks Elementary School, pursuant <br />to Minnesota Statutes Subd. 5a to Section 169.14. <br />Adopted this lOth day of January , 1978 <br />ATTEST: <br /> ity Clerk <br />(SEAL) x&fu~ <br />
