<br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call a special meeting of the New Brighton <br />City Council was held Tuesday, September 15,1981 at 7:30 p.m. <br />in the municipal building, 803 5th Avenue NW, New Brighton, <br />J'.1innesota. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Senden, Councilmembers Bob Benke, <br />Hoger Blomquist, Jeanette Janecek, Steve Schmidt <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: <br /> <br />James W. Fornell, City Manager <br />Donald L. Lais, City Attorney <br />Chuck Wood, Director of Liquor Operations <br />John Grau, Assistant City Manager <br />Vernon C. Pederson, City Clerk <br />Tom Dunwell, Buetow and Associates <br />Farrell Johnson, Buetow and Associates <br /> <br />The I'1ayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to review <br />bids and consider award of contracts for Palmer Drive Liquor <br />store expansion. <br /> <br />Mr. Farrell Johnson and Mr. Tom Dunwell of Buetow and Associates <br />reviewed bid tabulations. <br /> <br />The Mayor with consent of Council directed receipt and filing <br />of a memorandum dated September 15, 1981 from the Building <br />Conunittee and a letter from Buetow and Associates also dated <br />September l5, 1931. <br /> <br />After discussion the Council acted in the following manner: <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Senden to: <br /> <br />A. Ratify staff's action in extending the bid deadline <br />to September 14, 1981 at 4:00 p.m. for those categories <br />which the City received no bids on September lO, 1981 <br />at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />To waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION INCREASING <br />THE BUDGET FOP THE PALMER DElVE LOUNGE FOR BONDING <br />PURPOSES in an amount of $221,287.00. <br /> <br />RES. <br />NO. 2504 <br /> <br />C. To award the following contracts and direct the <br />!\1ayor and r1anaqer to execute said contracts for <br />the City: <br />
