RESOLUTION NO. <br />10-026 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING <br />AN AMENDED AND UPDATED <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND <br />TIER II COMPREHENSIVE SEWER PLAN <br />FOR THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />PURSUANT TO MINNESOT STATE STATUTES <br />WHEREAS, on November 24, 2009 the City Council of the City of New <br />;hton adopted Resolution 09-079, adopting the 2030 New Brighton Comprehensive <br />i, and <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council requires that cities adopt a Tier II <br />nprehensive Sewer Plan as part of their 2030 Comprehensive Plan, and <br />WHEREAS, Resolution 09-079 is being amended on April 13, 2010 to include <br />ption of the City of New Brighton Tier II Comprehensive Sewer Plan, which is a part <br />he 2030 New Brighton Comprehensive Plan, and <br />WHEREAS, the 1976 Metropolitan Land Planning Act (MLPA) requires <br />imunities within the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area to develop and update once every <br />years a local comprehensive plan that includes elements as described in Chapter 473 <br />tion 859 of the Minnesota Statutes including land use, public facilities, and <br />dementation strategies, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 473 Section 175 of the Minnesota Statues gives the <br />tropolitan Council the authority to review local comprehensive plans to determine <br />r compatibility with each other and conformity with the metropolitan system plans, <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 473 section 864 Subdivision 2 of the Minnesota Statues <br />led the MLPA in 1995 to require decennial reviews of the local comprehensive <br />to be completed by December 31, 2008, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton last updated its comprehensive plan on <br />11, 2000 after receiving an extension to the December 31, 1999 deadline, and <br />WHEREAS, on April 15, 2008, the Planning Commission of the City of New <br />hton held a public hearing on the 2030 New Brighton Comprehensive Plan Update <br />recommended the City Council authorize submission of the plan update to the <br />-opolitan Council, and <br />
