RESOLUTION NO. <br />13-021 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION RESCINDING PAST RESOLUTION 94-023 NO -PARKING 8:00 A.M. TO 4:00 <br />P.M. SCHOOL DAYS" ON IST AVENUE NW BY ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST SCHOOL; <br />THEREBY REMOVING SAID NO PARKING SIGNS. <br />WHEREAS, On February 22, 1994, the New Brighton City Council passed resolution 94-023 <br />which authorized the installation of "No -Parking 8:00 A.M. TO 4:00 P.M. School Days" signs along <br />the west side of 1St Avenue NW; and, <br />WHEREAS, resolution 94-023 was passed because the City received approximately 30 letters <br />signed by teachers and parents citing safety concerns for students on 1St Avenue NW between 8th Street <br />and 10"' Street. This was the area were parents frequently pick-up and drop-off students; and, <br />WHEREAS, St. John's has requested these signs be removed since location of pick-up and drop- <br />off for their students has changed to 2nd Avenue NW and that the parish and school community would <br />be better served if the west side of 1St Avenue were available for normal parking during school hours. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of New Brighton <br />hereby: <br />1. Rescind resolution 94-023. <br />Authorize the removal of the "No -Parking 8:00 A.M. TO 4:00 P.M.
