S ORDINANCE NO. 827 STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RAMSEY CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO CONTROL OF TREE DISEASES; AMENDING NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE, ARTICLE 2 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS as follows: 1. New Brighton City Code, Section 17-23 is amended as follows: Ser .j 17-23. Policy. City of New Brighton has determined that the health of trees within the municipal limits is ltened by certain fatal insects and diseases. Article is enacted to control and prevent the spread of oak wilt disease, Dutch elm disease he emerald ash borer insect. This action is necessary because: (1) 11 The disease threatens the health of the oak and elm trees within the City. (2) 1 1 The insect threatens the health of the ash trees of the Fraxinus genus within the City. (3) Loss of oak, elm and ash trees growing upon public and private property would substantially depreciate the value of property and impair the safety, good order, general welfare and convenience of the public.
