<br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97.-010- 1992 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF SPECIAL LEGISLATION <br />FACILITATING THE CREATION OF A MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL <br />SENIOR CENTER <br /> <br />Whereas, the cities of Fridley, New Brighton, spring Lake Park and <br />Mounds View have investigated the feasibility of creating a Muiti- <br />city senior Center, and <br /> <br />Whereas, the joint cities have found that they can provide for <br />senior services on a cost effective basis, by joining together and <br />consolidating services, and <br /> <br />Whereas, the cities have determined that special legislation is <br />required to facilitate the organization and operation of the senior <br />Center, and <br /> <br />, <br />Whereas, the four cities recognize that a joint powers agreement <br />will be developed and executed to define the obligations and <br />operations of the Senior Center, and <br /> <br />Whereas, the four cities find that it is their best interest to <br />pursue the special legislation to create an opportunity to provide <br />a cost effective means for senior programming. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the city of New Rrighton <br />supports the attached special legislation contained in Exhibit A, <br />to provide for a MUlti-city Senior Center. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE <br />28th DAY OF JAnllAry <br /> <br />CITY OF NRW RRTGHTON <br />, 1992. <br /> <br />THIS <br /> <br />~ <br />~Y , <br /> <br />A'!'TEST: <br /> <br />"-.-- <br /> <br />~LERK <br />
